The chambres d'hôtes bed and breakfast rooms each have private bathrooms and are in the cottage buildings grouped around the courtyard of an attractive 16th century house. Apart from a generous breakfast, a home cooked dinner made from fresh local ingredients, is also available on request. Meticulously restored in Renaissance style, the Château Chanzé has stood on the banks of the River Layon, a tributary of the Loire, since the 11th century. We wish to make your visit as pleasant and welcoming as possible. The château has been in our family for more than three hundred years. We are also passionate gardeners and have enlarged the park and created a series of lovely gardens. Our home is in the heart of the Layon wine producing area, celebrated for its Bonnezeaux crus. We have five en suite, air-conditioned chambres d'hotes bedrooms in two, recently renovated adjacent buildings that have been classified for their comfort and charm. Each of the bedrooms have been individually decorated and comfortably furnished in a personal style. Breakfast is served in what once was the old stable block, next to the heated swimming pool. This 17th century house rests at the foot of Château de Montmirail and is regarded as one of the most beautiful buildings in the village. We have combined our love of France and the influences of our American background into restoring the house back to its former glory and opening it for the first time as a romantic bed and breakfast for couples.
