Situated in the Lot Valley, on the borders of the Périgord in the Dordogne, near the medieval bastide town of Tournon-d'Agenais, our farm is surrounded by oak woods and has beautiful, panoramic views across the valley towards the bastide. The cottage is part of our farmhouse near Monflanquin, one of the loveliest medieval hilltop Bastide towns in France and has immense views of some of the most beautiful countryside in South West France. Within a very easy drive, you will also find the historic towns of Villereal and Monpazier, trapped in a time warp of history and looking very like they must have hundreds of years ago. The cottage is part of a working organic vegetable and is peacefully situated on the banks of the River Lot, which flows past the bottom of the garden. Viva is a traditional stone house set on our own vineyard in the middle of the Montravel vineyards. Entirely restored with its own pool and pleasantly furnished with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. There is a living room with television and a telephone and a large fully equipped kitchen, which includes a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Guibert is our tiny hill top hamlet surrounded by meadows, woodland and vineyards, 20 minutes walk to the once fortified, medieval village of Issac in the Crempse valley, 20 minutes from Bergerac. La Grange is a converted barn beside the swimming pool, literally paces away from the farmhouse. A south facing garden in front of the farmhouse has a spreading chestnut tree for shady, lazy, lunches. The house is at the end of a tiny country lane, so there is no traffic and safe for children. Our house is near the village of Escource in the Landes forest, about 17 km from the nearest beach at Mimizan. The scent of pine and sweet fresh air and a sense of peace, make this a wonderful Summer haven. The beaches at Vieux-Boucau and Hossegor to the South, have some of the best surfing anywhere.
