Our villa is at Cap Ferret, about an hour from Bordeaux, on the tip of the Arcachon Basin close to Le Canon, one of several oyster villages along the coast. The nearest beach is about 5 minutes walk from here, on the Arcachon side of the peninsular, so it is sheltered, peaceful and calm, ideal for children. Guibert is our tiny hill top hamlet surrounded by meadows, woodland and vineyards, 20 minutes walk to the once fortified, medieval village of Issac in the Crempse valley, 20 minutes from Bergerac. The Farmhouse has been kept as much as possible as found thirty odd years ago. Bathrooms, and kitchens and converted roof spaces adding comfort and space without spoiling its uniquely rustic French ambience.
