The house is classified as an historical monument, built by Mathilde de Courtenay, an influential woman of her time. It is on the main square of Vitteaux, a picturesque, medieval village in the heart of the Auxois area between Fontenay and Dijon and has been restored with great care to maintain its true Burgundian character and spirit. A delightful base in a delightful town from which to explore this beautiful part of France and a chance to taste essential Burgundy. Sleeps 2 to 5 people.

Château de Champallement, once owned by the family of Madame de Montespan, mistress of Louis XIV, is in the little village of Champallement in the heart of the Nièvre area of Burgundy and has stunning views across to the Morvan Hills. Nevers, close to the Formula 1 racing circuit at Magny-Cours, is 45 kms. We have six bed and breakfast rooms, all furnished with period family furniture and two guest salons.

Our country cottage is part of the Château de Champallement estate in the little village of Champallement in the heart of the Nièvre area of Burgundy and has stunning views across to the Morvan Hills. Vézelay, the mystic centre of Burgundy is 44 km from here, Nevers, close to the Formula 1 racing circuit at Magny-Cours, is 55 kms. The Tannay vineyards are 15 minutes drive, Sancerre, Pouilly, Irancy and Chablis are about an hour. Ideal for 1 or 2 people.

A lovely home, covered with virginia creeper and surrounded by hundred year old trees, in quiet countryside, close to a farm which grows cereals and raises beautiful white Charolais cattle. Dinner is available in the evening on request, when you can sample home cooking using local farm produce, accompanied by Burgundy wine.

This Maison de Maître, quietly situated in the countryside between Nevers near Magny Cours and Château-Chinon, has four large bedrooms with bathrooms and makes a comfortable base from which to explore the region. Close to restaurants, vineyards, ancient towns and villages. We are very near the Canal de Nivernais, one of the most naturally beautiful waterways in France and the forest of Vincence, where you can walk and cycle.
