Warm, dry heat and air scented with gorse, wild thyme and drifts of pine among a patchwork of vineyards that produce the Corbières wines, define this part of the Languedoc. The gite is next to our villa in a tiny hilltop hamlet, close to the village of Montséret, 20 kms from Narbonne and the beach. We only come in the winter, so you have the whole place to yourselves. Our home is in Boutenac, a small vineyard village in the middle of the Corbières vineyards, which produces a range of red, white and rosé wines and has its own appellation controlée. We have two comfortable double rooms, each with a shower room, which can be taken separately or together as a suite, for a family or friends travelling together. Narbonne is 20 minutes from here and the Mediterranean beaches are just beyond. Carcassonne is 30 minutes away and the Spanish border is an hour's drive.

Light and well furnished, the apartment is on the second floor of an ancient traditional town house close to the Place aux Herbes right in the centre of Uzès, facing onto the circular boulevard Gambetta, which marks the place where the medieval city walls used to be and where the market is held every Wednesday and Saturday morning.
