The château has a classical early 18th century elegance, in a beautiful setting on the banks of the River Avre, peacefully in harmony with the trees and parkland, water and green meadows where horses graze. We are about 20 minutes South of Orleans, close to many of the Loire chateaux and vineyards. The cottage is on one level and independent of the main house. This is a quiet place, unspoilt, full of wildlife and beautiful in any season, a place to return to and relax, read, walk or cycle through the forest, fish in our lake and contemplate. We keep horses and other farm animals, including a donkey and a pony, which are gentle with children and love any amount of attention. Paris is 90 minutes from here. Sleeps 4/6 people.

The Cher is the very heart of France, 250 km south of Paris, between the Loire Valley and Burgundy, so you have the best of all worlds. The cottage has been recently renovated with lots of warmth and charm. There is a beautiful garden with a wonderful tree house for children and a heated swimming pool. Comfortable at any time of year in a relatively undiscovered part of the Loire, where people are open and friendly. Sleeps 6/8 people.

The cottage is on the Chateau de Vaugaudry vineyard estate just outside Chinon in the Loire Valley. It is set amongst the vines on the side of a hill on the left bank of the River Vienne within sight of the great medieval castle at Chinon, close to many of the loveliest of the Loire chateaux. Quietly situated in countryside with four hectares of gardens where children can run about freely, about a hectare of which been made into a games area for both adults and children.
