Surrounded on three sides by vines that go into making cognac and pineau, the front of the house looks over a succession of valleys where, in May and June, the fields are filled with the stunning yellow of rapeseed or sunflowers. It is a warm, welcoming family house with a great sense of peace, where everyone can come together over meals or relax in quiet privacy if they wish and where children can roam freely. Our house is in a small hamlet on the cliffs overlooking the Gironde estuary to the Bordeaux vineyards, between the historic town of Saintes and the beaches around Royan. Originally, a simple country cottage, the size of the house has been more than doubled by its architect owner and has both a traditional and contemporary feel. Entertaining is easy with a covered terrace dining area with a barbecue and a large dining room in the house. Sleeps up to 6 people in comfort.

Bessons lies at the heart of our vineyard, which has been in our family now since 1850 and we will be delighted to show you around to see how we make cognac and pineau here and of course, taste it ! For those who prefer to be private and independent we have a large gite furnished with traditional country furniture with a private garden. There is also a small lake with private fishing.
