The house is a family home with guest rooms designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. A delightful traditional maison bourgeois near Confolens with a large garden overlooking a swimming pool and a children's play area, where we have a large double room and family suites bed and breakfast, all with television, DVD and en suite shower rooms. About 40 minutes North of Angouleme, an hour from Poiters.

We will be delighted to welcome you to our beautiful 17th century vicarage just behind the pretty market town of Couhé, 20 minutes from Poitiers. Previous guests have described La Vieille Cure as being like a Country House Hotel with main rooms that have a warm, welcoming ambience and en-suite bedrooms with an individual décor and character of their own with either large king size, twin, or four poster beds. Bessons lies at the heart of our vineyard, which has been in our family now since 1850 and we will be delighted to show you around to see how we make cognac and pineau here and of course, taste it ! For those who prefer to be private and independent we have a large gite furnished with traditional country furniture with a private garden. There is also a small lake with private fishing. Surrounded on three sides by vines that go into making cognac and pineau, the front of the house looks over a succession of valleys where, in May and June, the fields are filled with the stunning yellow of rapeseed or sunflowers. It is a warm, welcoming family house with a great sense of peace, where everyone can come together over meals or relax in quiet privacy if they wish and where children can roam freely.
