18th Century House with pool in the Dordogne

La Maison
Built in the 18th century of local stone with tiled floors and large open fireplaces, the house is situated in the village of Carlux, which is near the river and equidistant from Sarlat, Gourdon, Souillac and Salignac in the lovely Dordogne Valley of South West France.
Carlux has essential shops, Sarlat, Souillac and other nearby towns and villages have a good selection of shops and markets once a week. There are also many restaurants to choose from, ranging from family run bar restaurants to gastronomic, all reasonably priced.
The house has a living room with a fireplace, a dining room, three double bedrooms, one with a bathroom with a shower, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with a bath, and two wc's. The kitchen is fully equipped including an oven, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine and dishwasher and the house is comfortably furnished with old country furniture, satellite television, video and a telephone. Outside, is a fenced swimming pool (11 x 6m), a large garden, a small enclosed courtyard and a covered terrace with a barbecue and garden furniture. The Area
This is ideal country for walking and cycling and perhaps the best way to really see it. There are also golf courses, riding stables and canoe bases on the river. The whole Dordogne valley is full of ancient villages, forests and hidden valleys, prehistoric caves (wonderful on a hot day), châteaux and the Bergerac vineyards, where you can visit to taste and buy wine. At local farms you can often get fresh farm produce, eggs, foie gras pâtés or fruit and throughout the summer there are a succession of village fetes, festivals and country antique markets. Prices are weekly Saturday to Saturday, arriving after 4 pm departing before 10am Linen for the whole house is €80 extra Pool towels are €35 Final cleaning on departure is €60 A deposit of 25% is requested on booking, with the remainder 6 weeks before arrival.
