Bed and Breakfast on the outskirts of Paris France
Villemomble, 20 minutes from the city centre
3 double rooms
Les Chambres d'Hôtes
Villemomble is between Charles de Gaulle and Orly, the two main airports in Paris and has easy access to both the centre of Paris and to Eurodisney, 40 minutes away. By rail, the Gare Saint-Lazere is 18 minutes away and the Gare du Nord is a 15 minute journey.
The 1870's villa is typical of the warm, solid style of house in this area and is situated in a quiet street lined with other houses of the same period. There is a courtyard which allows parking for one or two cars. There are three bedrooms on the second floor of the house and a large sitting room.
Marie-Galante, is a cheerful single room, in shades of yellow. Cézembre is a very comfortable double room with rose coloured tints. Granadine is a large family room with a double bed and a sofa bed. It has a bathroom with shower, a television and can accommodate up to 4 people. The other bathroom is shared between the other two bedrooms. Breakfast is served in the garden on fine days. The Area
All the pleasures of Paris are minutes away. Getting to Fontainebleau or Versailles takes about an hour either by car or train. Fontainebleau is a quiet town, fairly typical of the environs of the capital. That is, until you see the sumptuous palace which dominates it. The Fontainebleau Forest covers a huge area and is a favourite place for Parisian weekenders to walk and cycle, or ride in. There are several reasonably priced restaurants around there and also in the town. Nearby Château Vaux-Le-Compte, though not as well known as Fontainebleau or Versailles, has a story almost as interesting as the building itself. The interior reflects the different periods of ownership and the huge kitchens remained in use until 1956. As you round the moat, the front facade doesn't prepare you for the baroque rear aspect. The view gets ever more breathtaking the further you walk through the gardens past statues, sculptured hedges and pools. The biggest delight however, are the candlelit evenings, which transform this once private château into a jewel with hundreds of flickering candles illuminating both the house and garden. Further afield, you can spend a day in Chartres or Chantilly or visit Monet's house in Giverny. Travel Information
