The little medieval village of Issigeac is 5 km from here and has a variety of shops and an especially good Sunday morning market, packed with every imaginable seasonal thing from foie gras and farm made cheeses to kilos of apricots and cherries, a dozen different kinds of lettuce, home baked cakes, tarts and wine, to garden plants and wicker baskets. It is quite a social occasion, when people come in from miles around as much to meet friends as to shop, to sit together in a cafe and catch up with news, or perhaps have lunch at the restaurant across from the old château. The old bastide town of Castillonnes is 7 km South of Mandacou. Bergerac airport is 15 minutes from here.

Le Gros Buisson is a renovated farmhouse with beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors with a wood burning stove. There is ample space for relaxing quietly, partying and barbecuing. If the sun gets too hot outside, you can retreat into the coolness of the house. The ground floor has a large lounge and dining area, a kitchen and a separate double bedroom. There is also a shower room and separate toilet. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, an oven and hob, microwave and has plenty of cutlery, glasses and crockery.
