Le Mas Shabanou
The house dates from the 17th century and is very typical of this part of France. Now restored to its former glory, this family home welcomes those who enjoy good food, comfort and relaxation in beautiful surroundings under the blue skies of the Côte d'Azur. We have a large swimming pool, a well maintained garden and a large terrace with a bar and restaurant. Everything you need is right here.
Roquefort-les-Pins is 15 minutes from Nice, Cannes, and Grasse and close to several excellent golf courses. The beaches around Juan les Pins and Cannes are 15 minutes from here and have every kind of water sports. Valbonne or Saint Paul de Vence have art galleries, museums, fine shops, lovely restaurants and outdoor cafes. The mas is ideal at any time of year for a relaxing few days away from it all, a romantic weekend, golfing breaks and family holidays or for friends travelling together.
All our bed and breakfast rooms have double or twin beds, en suite bathrooms with bath, a mini-fridge, hairdryers, air-conditioning, coffee making facilities and private terraces. The two studio apartments also have a small kitchenette for those who prefer to be more independent. Golf courses include Opio and Mougins, both in a magnificient setting and there are any number of tennis courts to choose from and riding stables who will organize treks into the hills. The night life in and around Juan-les-Pins, Cannes and Nice would appeal to all ages. There is something for everyone.
The Area
The first floor of the mas is an art gallery with a permanent exhibition of Alex Lichtveld’s work. He also gives art courses for groups or individuals, which can be tailor made to suit. The painting course is aimed at developing your personal 'visual language', taking the landscapes of Renoir, Matisse and Picasso as a starting point. In various sketching exercises, you get to develop your visual skills, while using different painting and drawing techniques. Groups vary from six to nine persons and from beginners to semi-professionals. Tuition and support for individuals on holiday, for an hour or two on a daily basis, can also be arranged on request. Non-participating partners are welcome. During the winter, Shabanou also makes a good base for skiing in Greolières les Neiges, Auron, Valberg and Isola 2000.
