Welcoming Bed and Breakfast near Paris in the Seine et Marne
Brie-Comte-Robert, between Disneyland Paris and Fontainebleau
5 double or twin rooms with en suite shower rooms
La Lirencine
Our chambres d’hotes bed and breakfast is in the heart of Brie, 25 minutes from the centre of Paris, between both Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports. Fontainebleau, Versailles and Disneyland Paris are all roughly 30 minutes from here, so you have the best of everything at hand. We are close to the center of the village, in a quiet situation within walking distance of a number of restaurants. There is private parking on the property.
Brie-Comte-Robert is the ancient capital of Brie and has much charm. The centre of town has a village atmosphere with a variety of local shops and three markets a week. The François Mitterrand Park is particularly lovely. The nearest train station (line D) is Combs la Ville, but we do recommend that you have a car.
Our 5 double or twin rooms have all been individually furnished and decorated with different themes: La Montagne, Paris, la Provence, Golf and Ile de France. Each has an en suite shower room. We are enthusiastic golfers and welcome others to come and stay on a ‘Golfing Break’ special package basis, which includes dinner. Please enquire for details. Guests who stay for a week or more can have the use of a small kitchenette. Breakfast is usually served in the dining room or outside in the garden on fine days. We will be happy to help and advise on anything that you need to know.
The Area
The best Brie cheese is made in Meaux, though Melun would probably strongly argue with that. You will just have to decide for yourselves. Brie-Comte-Robert has several tennis courts open to everyone and a swimming pool. There is a large choice of golf courses within reasonable driving distance, the nearest being at Lésigny, 5 minutes by car. Disneyland Paris is only 30 minutes away and the pleasures of Paris are on the doorstep. Fontainebleau is just to the south of Brie, surrounded by a great forest, where you can walk, picnic, cycle, hire horses and ride the bridleways, at the heart of which, is Fontainebleau itself. The town grew up around the chateau over the centuries to house an overflow of guests and to provide bread, meat, cloth and an army of carpenters, stonemasons, cooks and gardeners to cater for the needs of the chateau. The chateau is a sumptuous mixture of architectural styles ranging from Renaissance to baroque to classical 17th century, as successive monarchs added bits of their own. Vaux-le-Vicomte, not far from Fontainebleau, has a chateau just as exquisite but less well known. The gardens alone are worth a visit. Versailles is the most famous of all, built in 1661 by Louis XIV, not known for his restraint, in a jealous rage, in an attempt to outshine Vaux-le-Vicomte. Travel Information
