Villa Canto Cigaloun
The villa is part of La Croix Valmer, a village set in the hills behind the coast with stunning views across to the beautiful islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros. It is quiet and private here and pleasantly cool during long hot days. Croix Valmer beach is 2 kms away, Cavalaire-sur-Mer is 3 kms. There are local shops within easy distance, a number of restaurants and markets each morning in different villages around and about.
The Ramatuelle peninsular is wooded and delightful with several popular beaches that have water sports facilities and tucked away, unfrequented coves. You can also take a short ferry trip across to one of the islands for the day. Porquerolles has vineyards and there are many wonderful walks both there and on Port-Cros. Saint Tropez is 10 kms from here. The main living room of the apartment opens straight onto a glassed in veranda with dining table and chairs and a barbecue, which opens onto the pool with views beyond towards the Mediterranean. There is also a corner study area with a double sofa bed if needed.
The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, oven and hob and a fridge/freezer. There is also television, telephone and hi-fi system. A double bedroom opens onto the terrace and there is a bathroom with shower. The second double bedroom is downstairs together with a shower room and wc. Upstairs is a large living room with a fireplace, books and television, which opens onto a large terrace looking out towards the sea, two double bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry facilities. The entrance to upstairs is separate from the main entrance to the villa. The garden has shady trees and is scattered with Mediterranean plants and flowers. There is also private parking and romote controlled security gates.
The Area
Saint Tropez is surrounded by huge beaches, again with every kind of water sport facility available. There is also an excellent golf course and another at Sainte Maxime. Saint Tropez has a stylish, relaxed atmosphere and has long been favoured as an all year round place to visit. There are numerous smart shops, restaurants and art galleries and in the early morning, before the day really begins, it still seems like the quiet fishing village it once was. Perched in the hills behind Saint Tropez is the old village of Grimaud, peaceful and unchanged with lovely arcaded houses and a pretty Romanesque church. Further along the coast is Le Lavendou, a charming little fishing port with a marina, named after the lavender fields cultivated along the river. All through the year, huge festivals are held in different places on the coast; the Nice Carnival in February, The Film Festival in Cannes, the Ramatuelle Festival in August, the Saint Tropez Regatta for famous, classic ocean racing sail boats in October, and in December, the Saint Tropez Christmas Festival.
