Royal Country House with pool in the Dordogne

Triguedinat
The house dates from the 19th century and is typical of the style of architecture found in the Dordogne. Frequently used by members of the Belgian Royal Family, it is situated in countryside, 8 kms from Sarlat and a short distance from the River Dordogne. Triguedinat lies between some of the loveliest of the chateaux to be found here; Beynac, Marquessa and Castelnaud, Fayrac and Milandes, once the home of Josephine Baker.
The house is warm, welcoming and has all necessary comforts. All the rooms have lovely views over the valley and there are two hectares of garden to wander around in, in absolute peace and privacy.
Triguedinat has two salons with television, one with a dining table that seats six to twelve people. It is furnished with carefully chosen country furniture, comfortable sofas and armchairs, old paintings and good china. The kitchen is fully equipped and next to a utility room with a washing machine, a drinks fridge and a freezer. There are five bedrooms in total, each with a bathroom. Two have a double bed, one is a single room and two are twin bedrooms. Next to the house is a 6 x 12 metre swimming pool and there is a sunny terrace at the front of the house and a number of teak garden chairs. The Area
This part of Southwest France is blessed with a beautiful and varied countryside, scattered with medieval towns and villages, feudal chateaux, Roman churches, parks, gardens, amazing prehistoric caves and a generous larder rich in foie gras, truffles, duck and wild mushrooms, farm cheeses, walnuts and hazelnuts. Sarlat has shops, several restaurants and a popular Saturday morning market in the Place de la Liberté. It is a place full of Renaissance mansions and medieval houses in a maze of narrow streets, many with curious gables, turrets and windows amongst a tumble of rooftops, which needs time to wander through to really see. Often on summer evenings, there are street entertainers and the town also has a varied programme of music and theatre events throughout much of the year. There are some wonderful walks directly from the house and within 10 kms is a golf course, tennis courts and riding stables, a kayak hire base and places on the river for fishing. Travel Information
