Provencal Villa with private pool in the Var
Saint Paul en Forêt, between Draguignan and Saint Raphaël
4 bedrooms, sleeps up to 10 people
Villa Bella
The villa borders on the edge of a wood and has lovely open views of the countryside around. St Paul en Forêt is 4 kms from the medieval hilltop village of Fayence, one of several pretty provencal villages here. Bargamon and its vineyards, Tourettes and Montauroux are others, all within a short drive, all with a choice of shops and weekly markets. Draguignan and Saint Raphaël are about 25 kms away, Cannes is 40 kms.
The house is typical of the southern style of architecture here and has an open living room with a mezzanine and a kitchen leading off it. There is television with multi language channels, a small stereo system and a telephone. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker and microwave, a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer and a fridge/freezer.
The villa itself has three bedrooms, a double, a twin and a children's room with two sets of double bunk beds. There is also a bathroom and a shower room. A step away from the house is a fourth twin bedroom in an annex. The pool is fenced to protect young children, surrounded by a stone terrace and there are sunbeds, outside tables and chairs and an electric barbeque. There is also table tennis in the two car covered parking place. The Area
There is a golf course at Terres Blanches, 6 kms away in Tourette and tennis courts here in Saint Paul. Fayence has gliding club and there are various water sports facilities at Lake Saint Cassien, 12 kms from here. Local restaurants serve a variety of Provençal dishes like stuffed vegetables and fresh pasta, gnocchi's and pizza, seafood, generous salads and bouillabaisse fish soup, along with the wines of the Var. Draguignan is a small town with a reputation for good food, both in its restaurants and shops. Its lovely old buildings, squares and fountains lead to the 17th century clock tower, a landmark in the centre the town. Beyond Draguignan are the Verdon Gorges, a spectacular area of gorges and plunging waterfalls. Grasse has a pleasant old-fashioned air about it, lovely buildings and boulevards, many more shops and some excellent restaurants. It has long been famous for making perfumes and the fields of flowers that are used to make the essences are a stunning sight when they are in bloom. Saint Raphaël and the beaches around it, is a great for a day on the coast and caters for just about everything from diving to jet-skiing. Cannes has its own magic, especially the wonderful shops along La Croisette. Travel Information
