Three double rooms with bathrooms. Pitch and Put Golfing Green.
Le Ruisseau
Ideally placed between La Gacilly, Rochefort-en-Terre and Malestroit, Le Ruisseau is a traditional Breton stone house dating from 1900, situated in the village square of St Martin-sur-Oust, a short walk from the River Oust and the beautiful lock of the Nantes Brest Canal. Redon is our nearest main town, 20 minutes away.
We have uniquely combined our passion for France and our homelands of Australia and America into the décor and garden of this lovely home. Hardwood floors, beam ceilings, stone fireplaces and antique furnishings throughout the house, create warmth and an attractive atmosphere. There is a spacious patio with comfortable seating nestled in the large garden among numerous trees and gorgeous flowerbeds. Outdoor games include badminton, croquet, boules and a 50 metre Pitch and Put green. Enjoy relaxing evenings by a cosy fire in the lounge area before dinner or have fun outside playing games in the garden on warm days, or take a stroll around the peaceful village square.
The Master Suite is a delightfully romantic room in a separate wing of the house, which has a queen size bed, antique furnishings, a stone fireplace and a private bathroom with full bath. The Mindi Anne Suite is a bright and comfortable room on the first floor with a queen size bed, traditional furnishings, a skylight and a private bathroom. Elsie Marie Suite is a pleasant, cosy room adjacent to the Mindi Anne Suite with 2 single beds, ideal for travelling friends, single guests or children. A continental breakfast is served between 8.00am - 9.30am. Complimentary afternoon teas are available on request.
The Area
Golf courses include the Golf de Val Quéven and the Golf de Ploemeur-Océan, both 18-holes, plus another at the Golf du Lac au Duc in Ploermel. There are riding stables and canoeing in Glénac and authorized swimming (no surveillance) in the lake at Carentoir. Shared with its neighbouring village Peillac, the Pont d’Oust site has a swimming pool, mini golf and a pontoon. Fishing localities for carp, pike or perch from the banks of the River Oust, the Aff, the Nantes-Brest canal and also in several lakes in the area, are numerous. St Martin-sur-Oust has many places of interest, such as the Vaulaurent lake and the La Née weir overlooking the Guélin locks. Twenty five years have passed since the first craftsmen came to La Gacilly and each year, many curious visitors flock to the flowered, cobbled streets to admire their skills. The Yves Rocher discovery tour in La Gacilly allows the visitor to see, hear, smell, touch and interact with the world of nature. The Grisan woods, in the North of the village, is an area run by the county’s hunting federation, where nature trails introduce the visitor to the local fauna. Known for its dynamic community and numerous festivals throughout the entire year, Les Fougerêts is a village noted for its wide range of heritage. A trail leads you on a discovery tour of numerous wells, crosses and ancient ovens. Something to delight all age groups. An easy drive from St Martin-sur-Oust, Vannes stretches over a large area bordering the Gulf of Morbihan. The Gulf is an ideal place for sports enthusiasts, a treat for those who sail, kayak or wind surf. Vannes itself has several festivals during the year, including jazz and Breton music, plus exhibitions of local tales and legends and photographs. Travel Information
