Two Farmhouse Cottages with pool in Southwest France

Regis
The cottages are part of the original Régis farmhouse, situated in Le Laussou, 4km (a five minute drive) from Monflanquin, listed as one of the loveliest medieval Bastide towns in France. Within an easy drive, you will also discover many historic towns such as Villereal, Issigeac and Monpazier, all trapped in a time warp, looking very like they could have done hundreds of years ago with quaint streets, leaning buildings, markets and a wonderfully hospitable welcome. Here and in the Dordogne (about a 40 minute drive from us) there are untold places of interest to visit. The local wine is excellent and there are plenty of producers within a short radius of us where you can go and taste and, if you wish, buy.
You will find a folder of all such attractions in the gites and the Office de Tourism in Monflanquin will equip you with all the information you may require about places to visit and sporting/leisure activities available, of which there are many. The Dairy has three double bedrooms, one with a double bed and two with twin beds and all have fitted wardrobes, bedside tables, plenty of mirrors, lighting and plugs. There is a family bathroom upstairs, with tiled walls, bath, overhead shower, basin, w.c. and again, mirrors and good lighting. On the ground floor there is a huge, beamed living room with three-piece suite, wood-burning fire, separate occasional tables and chairs and a very large and well-stocked bookcase, French television and video, as well as indoor games. At the far end is a large dining table and 6 dining chairs. Off the living room is a very pretty kitchen with sink, 4-burner gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, large fridge/freezer and it is well equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, glasses and a large selection of pans. Again, off the living room, is a huge walk-in shower with a further door off this into an area with a basin, vanity unit with large mirror, lighting and a second w.c. From the living room there is the staircase, which is divided into two – up the first five steps, there is a landing. Turn right there and you reach the third twin-bedded room, which is fitted with wardrobe, dressing table, bedside table and light. Turn left on the landing and you ascend to the two upstairs bedrooms and family bathroom.
The Fromagerie is a charming and intimate cottage for two. It has a large double-bedded room, with built-in wardrobe and drawers, a dressing table with mirror and light, bedside tables with table lights and there are plenty of plugs. To the left of the entrance is the sitting room, well furnished and equipped with a 3-seater settee, a separate wing chair, coffee table, a wood-burning stove (for cooler months) and French television/video player and CD/radio player. There are also numerous plugs available for use. Directly in front of the entrance is the corner, well-equipped kitchen, with tiled topped extendable dining table and chairs, sink, dishwasher, gas cooker with 4 gas burners and an oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave oven, plenty of matched cutlery and cooking utensils, pans, crockery, glasses. Between the lounge/kitchen and the bedroom is a corridor, off which is the fully tiled bathroom with overhead shower, w.c. and hand-basin, plus a heated towel rail. Opposite the bathroom you will find a fully automatic washing machine and tumble dryer and a cupboard housing all necessary cleaning equipment, spare light bulbs and electric meters. There is a pretty covered terrace outside the Fromagerie with BBQ facilities and a table with 4 (or more) chairs, ideal for meals al fresco and to enjoy the stunning views. If your party is for 4 people, we can also offer you our Independent Bedroom, situated next to the Fromagerie and with its own separate entrance. This comprises a twin-bedded room with en-suite shower room and a small terrace. This property is only let with the Fromagerie, as it has no cooking facilities, but does have a tea/coffee making facility. Just next to our house, a minute’s walk from the Fromagerie, you will find the beautiful pool, for the exclusive use of all our visitors. It is a 12m x 6m pool, maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. It has Roman steps and is surrounded by a paved area, equipped with pool loungers, mattresses, tables and parasols, not to mention lilos for the pool. It has the statutory safety alarms fitted and offers an amazing view over the fields to the hill top Bastide of Monflanquin. For those who may fancy a night time swim, it can also be fully flood-lit. The Dairy, the Fromagerie and the Independent Bedroom are fully equipped with bed linen, bathroom, kitchen and pool towels. A change of bed linen, kitchen and bathroom towels is supplied at the end of the first week. Within the area of Monflanquin itself, there are many very good restaurants and all necessary amenities – including an English shop/restaurant in case you may have forgotten an essential item of home cooking! We look forward to welcoming you to this very beautiful and historic part of France.
