In an Art Deco building in the chic Musicians Quarter
1 bedroom, sleeps 2 to 4 people
The apartment is on the third floor of an Art Deco building in the Musicians' Quarter in the centre of Nice, minutes from the Promenade des Anglais and the beach. In a fabulous setting on the Mediterranean coast within easy reach of Cannes, Saint Tropez, Monaco, the Italian border and beautiful inland villages in the hills behind, Nice is everything you would want it to be; cosmopolitan, romantic, easy going and full of life.
Shops of all kinds, specialist food shops and others hidden away in the back streets where you can often find a treasure or a bargain, cafés and a huge choice of restaurants catering for every taste and pocket. The lovely old part of Nice and daily markets, are on the doorstep. The 'L’Occitane' restaurant is about 2 minutes walk from the apartment. Walk up the Rue Giuglia to Rue Rossini, turn right and stay on the right side of the road. It serves a good 3-course meal for about €16 not including drinks. Also, explore the food market in Avenue de Grasse (near L’Occitane), open in the mornings. The boulangerie and a Casino supermarket are on Boulevard Gambetta or try the “Huit à Huit” (open from 8am-8pm) in the Rue Verdi.
The apartment has been stylishly decorated and furnished with an attention to detail and is fully air-conditioned and centrally heated. There is parquet flooring throughout and French windows open onto balconies from the main double bedroom, kitchen and salon area. The kitchen is brand new and fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave, washing machine, kettle and toaster among other things.
There is a comfortable double bedroom and two large sofa beds in the reception. A hairdryer is provided. The shower room is new, there is a separate wc and the apartment has an elegant dining suite, a large television, DVD and a hi-fi system.
If you want to have a lazy morning or afternoon at home, you can choose from a number of books in the bookcase in the bedroom and sit on the balcony reading and sipping a glass of wine, or after a hectic day out, choose a dvd from the selection of English dvd's catering for all ages.
Depending on your pace, it will take 8 to 10 minutes to walk to the Promenade des Anglais and the beach. Walk one block from the apartment, then turn right into the Rue Berlioz, following it all the way until you come out on the Promenade between the famous Hotel Negresco and the charming Place Masséna. To reach the pedestrian zone (Zone Pietones) with its multitude of restaurants, walk east (right) from the flat to the end of Rue Rossini, cross Bvd. Victor Hugo and carry straight on. It's about an eight minute walk. This also brings you to the edge of Old Nice, which has enchanting, winding streets, its shops selling art, crafts and boutique fashions and also great antiques and flower markets.
