Chambres d’Hôtes Bed and Breakfast in a Brittany Manoir
Pommerit-le-Vicomte, between Guingamp and Paimpol
4 en suite rooms. Heated summer swimming pool.

Manoir Le Cosquer

A warm welcome is extended to each and every guest by your hosts Alison and Mauro to ensure that you have a pleasurable and relaxing stay in this most idyllic part of the Côtes d’Armor in Brittany. For your enjoyment, facilities include beautiful grounds and a lake, a fitness room, badminton and croquet, an above ground heated swimming pool (June to Sept), a children’s play area and more.

Originally owned by an aristocratic family in the 15th century and seen in the French film 'L'Affaire Seznec', Manoir Le Cosquer is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, a short drive from the stunning ‘Granite Rose’ coast. Situated in the typical village of Pommerit-le-Vicomte, 15 minutes from beautiful sandy beaches, we are between the town of Guingamp and the fishing ports of Paimpol and St Quai de Pontrieux. The airport at Dinard is 70 minutes from here, Roscoff is an hour, Saint Malo is about 80 minutes.

A selection of well appointed rooms with en suite bathrooms with either shower or bath, have lovely views and are stocked with books and local information. Breakfast is served in the dining room which has a grand piano and double aspect windows to the front courtyard and to the gardens and lake beyond to the rear. Dinner is also available on request and as many home grown fruit and vegetables as possible are used.

The house has many original features such as the Louis XIV staircase, huge chestnut and oak beams, terracotta flooring, open fireplaces, light, sunny rooms and seven acres of gardens with a large lake, to roam around in and enjoy. There is a comfortable guest sitting room with a well-stocked library, board games and lovely views with French doors leading to the rear park and lake.

The bedrooms are on the first and second floors in the East or West wings of the house.

L'Abbée de la Grève Master Bedroom' is a large double room with a king size bed, en suite bathroom with bath, bidet, wc and wash basin. Large double windows both to the front and to rear give gorgeous views of the gardens, park and lake. Exposed beams and a fireplace lend added charm.

Le Pivert is a double bedroom with a king size bed, en-suite shower room (shower, wc and wash basin), beams and a fireplace. Large double windows to the front give views over the gardens and courtyard.

La Mésange Bleue is a large, airy twin room with double aspect windows to the front, exposed beams and a private en-suite shower room (shower, wc and wash basin).

L'Hirondelle Master Bedroom Suite is a huge bedroom with king size double bed, a single bed, a lounge area with sofa and table, built in wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower, wc and wash basin. This room can sleep up to five people if required.

Breakfast is usually home made crepes, fresh eggs from our free range hens, warm croissants and fresh baguette with home made jams, fruit juice, tea or coffee.

Dinner is a 3 course menu that changes with the seasons. For example:
Tarte Tatin Montagne
King sized prawns and scallops in a provençal sauce served on a bed of wild rice
Selection of cheeses or chocolate cake with coconut ice cream or crème brulée

There are wonderful gardens and copses with lots of flora and fauna, littered with majestic oak, chestnut and many other more exotic trees with open corn fields beyond. The lake has a gradual slope (not fenced off), where visiting wildlife can be seen including ducks, moorhens and herons.

If it's fitness you need, then why not enjoy a work-out in the fitness room, equipped with modern aerobic machines. An indoor table tennis table is located in one of the outbuildings and there is also a badminton court.

There is a discreet childrens' play area with swings and a handy indoor children’s games room. There is also an above the ground summer heated swimming pool which is great for the younger members of the family.

We and our friendly dog, cats and resident hens, geese and ducks, are on hand if there is anything you need to know.
