Air-conditioned Bed and Breakfast Suite near the beach in the Var
Hyères, between Toulon and Saint Tropez on the Côte d’Azur
Suite with 1 or 2 bedrooms, sleeping 1, 2, 3 or 4 people. Heated pool.

Abricot Cannelle

Our villa is in Mont des Oiseaux, just above the beach at Almanarre with spectacular views across the Bay of Giens to the ‘Golden Isles’ of Hyères, Porquerolles, Port Cros and Le Levant. The garden is brimming with Mediterranean plants and trees, full of the scents of Provence and a paradise for butterflies and birds. The climate is pleasant at any time of year with long hot summers and mild winters and there is something for everyone here.

Hyères is a short drive and has a large choice of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. The medieval centre is full of charm with a warren of narrow pedestrianised streets and there are shops and a weekly market. Toulon is 15 minutes, Saint Tropez about 45 minutes and airports at Nice and Marseille are 85 minutes.

The suite has a private garden entrance facing the pool and comprises 1 or 2 double rooms, a sitting room, a dressing room and a shower room with a separate wc. The bedrooms open directly onto the terrace and garden beyond. We welcome couples, single people, families of three or four and friends travelling together. All the rooms are air-conditioned and the suite is entirely yours.

Each bedroom has a King size bed, bedside tables, individual lamps and a chest of drawers. The bed linen has been carefully chosen to create a sense of pleasure, comfort and respose. A hairdryer is provided. The sitting room has books, local information, wifi Internet access and various games for both adults and children.
A generous breakfast with home made jams is usually taken on the terrace by the pool, or in our salon.

We are keen gardeners, and have created a Mediterranean garden with a variety of plants such as palms and mimosa, pines, olives trees, figs and banana trees, not to mention orange and lemon trees and, kumquats, where there are shady spots to read and doze. We will be on hand to help and advise with anything you need to know about locally.

Health and Well-being sessions given by a beauty consultant, to soothe away stress and fatigue, restore equilibrium and rejuvenate natural vitality, can be arranged on request. Please ask for further details.

The Area

The beach at Almanarre below us is only 5 minutes away and there are others along the coast with a variety of watersports. Almanarre is great for windsurfing and kite surfing. There are tennis courts on the doorstep and regular ferries go to the islands of Port-Cros, a wild life reserve, Levant and Porquerolles, for day out.

There are numerous places to walk or cycle to and we can suggest some routes that take in
wonderful exotic gardens. There are several local riding stables and golfers are spoilt for choice.
Sainte-Maxime, near Saint-Tropez, has an excellent golf course and lively evening entertainment. It also has many good restaurants and a fine reputation for its food.

Saint-Tropez, apart from its fabulous shops and beaches, has always attracted artists because of the quality of the light and many of their works of art are now housed in the Museum of Modern Art.
Le Lavandou, named after the lavender fields along the banks of the River Batailler, is a charming little fishing port, well worth a visit.

Inland from the coast is another world and some say that it is here, in a beautiful landscape amongst ancient Provencal villages that true civilisation begins. In summer, you are bound to come across a village fête somewhere, every one has one. They can last up to a week, climaxing in a huge dinner with tables laid out in the square under the plane trees, which usually goes on all night in a good tempered, relaxed atmosphere, often with a band happily playing old tunes, so that grandfather can dance with granddaughter.
