Independent cottages with Mediterranean views in the South of France
Grasse, between Cannes and Nice on the Cτte d'Azur
1 or 2 bedrooms, sleeping 2, 4 & 6 people. Air-conditioned. Heated pool.
La Bastide O'nhora
The house is full of the old charm of Provence and a family home that is warm and friendly. Set in a large garden with ancient olive trees, the five self-catering cottages are all independent of one another with private terraces and spectacular views of the Mediterranean. A place in which to gaze out to sea, contemplate and daydream.
Grasse is 30 minutes from Nice and all it has to offer and from there it is an easy drive to Monaco and Menton on the Italian border. Cannes is 20 minutes from here.
The gites are ideal at any time of year for a relaxing time away from it all, a romantic few days, golfing breaks and family holidays or for friends travelling together. Each has a living room with a comfortable sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, television and dvd, a bathroom and one or two bedrooms. WiFi Internet connection and a hairdryer are provided and there is private parking. There is a heated, oxygenated swimming pool, terraced with sunbeds and parasols and secluded places in the grounds to read quietly or take a siesta.
The Area
Golf courses include Opio and Mougins, both in a magnificient setting and there are any number of tennis courts to choose from and riding stables who will organize treks into the hills. The night life in and around Juan-les-Pins, Cannes and Nice would appeal to all ages. There is something for everyone. The beaches around Juan les Pins and Cannes have every kind of water sports. Valbonne or Saint Paul de Vence have art galleries, museums, fine shops, good restaurants and outdoor cafes. Grasse has long been the centre of the perfume industry and is famous for its fields of roses, jasmine and lavender, at their best in July, which are harvested and distilled to make the scents and essences. On the other side of Grasse is St Paul de Vence, a walled medieval village perched on a hill, where the painter Marc Chagall lived. Today it is still a favourite with artists and has numerous restaurants and cafes. The Maeght Foundation on the edge of the town has many works by the 20th century Impressionist painters. Just beyond St Paul is Vence, another lovely medieval town, which has a relatively modern chapel with frescoes by Henri Matisse. Travel Information
